Intersectional impacts on physical activity participation.

This is a research study focusing on intersectional influences (e.g. cultural/ethnic diversity, socioeconomic status, etc.) on physical activity participation in newcomer adults experiencing disabilities (mental, physical, etc.).

A total of 5-8 newcomer adults are invited to participate in an individual interview that will take approximately 60-90 minutes. The study will take place either in-person at McMaster University or online over Zoom (or application of your choice). With your consent, the interviews will be audio recorded to transcribe the interviews verbatim. Each participant will receive the interview transcript to review the collected data and confirm its accuracy. This study also involves providing demographic information via LimeSurvey.

To be eligible to participate in this study, one must be currently residing in Ontario, aged 18 years or older upon immigration to Canada, experiencing disability, and able to speak and understand conversational English.

This study has been reviewed and received ethics clearance from the McMaster Research Ethics Board (Project #7120).
