This episode focuses on the late Dave Lawson, a descendant of Enerals and Priscilla Griffin who purchased Griffin House in Ancaster in 1834 after escaping slavery in the U.S. The Griffins were some of the first Black Settlers in the area, and the site remains an important part of Black history in Canada offering tours about the Underground Railroad.
