Lucy Foley studied English literature at Durham University and University College London and worked for several years as a fiction editor in the publishing industry. She is the author of five novels including The Paris Apartment, The Guest List, The Hunting Party, and The Midnight Feast. She lives in London.
Uzma Jalaluddin is the author of two mystery novels, Moonlight Murder (2026) and Detective Aunty (2025), both featuring Kausar Khan, a South Asian Miss Marple. Uzma has also written six romance novels, including Ayesha At Last, inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and Three Holidays and a Wedding (2023), a multi-faith holiday romcom co-written with Marissa Stapley, which was a Good Morning America Buzz Pick. Many of her books have been optioned for film and television, including by Netflix and Amazon, and her work has appeared on 'Best of' lists in the Globe and Mail, Publisher's Weekly and the Washington Post. In 2025, she was awarded an honorary doctorate from Queens University for her contribution to Canadian storytelling. She lives outside Toronto with her husband and two sons, where she also teaches high school.

Central Library
The first Hamilton Public Library building opened on September 16, 1890 by the Earl and Countess of Aberdeen on the north side of Main Street West. In 1913, a new main library opened. This building was replaced in 1980 by Central Library, at the current location on York Boulevard.
In 2010, Central Library re-opened after approximately 18 months of renovations. Central Library opened with a newly revitalized first floor, which includes a Community Living Room that takes advantage of natural light. The Ontario Library Association honoured Central in 2012 with an Architectural and Design Transformation award.
